Ilhan Omar Resignation Announcement – It’s Shocking
A controversial poster connecting Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) with the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attack sparked an uproar in the West Virginia House of Delegates and led to an official’s resignation.
The poster, which featured the Muslim lawmaker below a plane hitting the Twin Towers, was displayed by a protest group on Friday during the legislature’s “GOP Day.”
Tempers rose as a Democrat delegate, Michael Angelucci, complained to Anne Lieberman, sergeant at arms of the House of Delegates, that the poster should be removed.
After Lieberman declined to remove the poster, which is protected free speech, he accused her of saying, “All Muslims are terrorists.”
Lieberman responded that her actual words were “not all Muslims are terrorists.” Nevertheless, she issued a statement that day resigning as sergeant at arms.
Another Democrat delegate, Mike Caputo, issued an apology for injuring a doorkeeper when he kicked chamber doors open during the daily prayer and pledge of allegiance.
