Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick warned Antifa to stay away from the state following a shooting at an El Paso Walmart that killed 15 to 20 people, Fox News reported.
The left-wing group had planned to come to the state on September 1, but Patrick addressed them during a Fox News appearance and said they should not come.
“We don’t need them coming in on Sept. 1. We didn’t need them coming in before this happened,” Patrick said. Protests that often turn violent have marked previous Antifa gatherings.
Patrick also expressed that Texas would stick together after the shooting. “We’re never going to give up to the shooters, never going to give up to the lawbreakers,” he said.
Witnesses to the shooting said they saw a man dressed in black shooting outside the Walmart before entering.
