Devastating Blow For Nancy Pelosi – Goodbye
The White House has dealt a new blow to Sen. Nancy Pelosi and fellow House Democrats’ witch hunt for dirt on President Trump.
On Friday, White House counsel Pat Cipollone rejected Democrats’ request to interview Trump’s former deputy assistant and deputy counsel Stafan Passantino.
Passantino is suspected of providing false information to government ethics officials about alleged hush money payments made by Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen.
In his rejection letter, Cipollone explained that the request should have been sent directly to his office, rather than to Passantino, who now works for the Trump Organization.
“In response to your request, given longstanding law and practice, we are not inclined to make the former Deputy Counsel to the President available for a transcribed interview inquiring into his conversations and advice he provided while serving as Deputy Counsel to the President,” he wrote.
Cipollone lambasted House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings for making “unfair accusations maligning the reputations of individual attorneys” and launching an “unnecessarily antagonistic inquiry.”
