There continues to be political fallout from the recent arrest of previously convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on new charges of conspiracy and sex trafficking of minors.
Numerous Democrats, including New York Senator and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, attempted in vain to connect Epstein with President Donald Trump, even as reports began to emerge detailing far more extensive links between the disgraced wealthy financier and prominent Democratic politicians.
The New York Post reported in July that, according to filings with the Federal Elections Commission, Sen. Schumer and political action committees affiliated with him had received a combined $22,000 in donations throughout the 1990s from Epstein.
Schumer personally received seven $1,000 donations from Epstein between 1992 and 1997. Epstein also donated $10,000 to the Victory in New York PAC — a joint fundraising committee between Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee — as well as $5,000 to the Win New York PAC — a joint committee benefiting both Schumer and the Liberal Party of New York.
In a statement released from Schumer’s office in response to that revelation, it was made clear that although those PACs and campaign accounts had long been closed down, an equal sum would nevertheless be donated to organizations focused on combatting sex trafficking and violence against women.
The left would like nothing better than to tie Epstein to Trump like an albatross around his neck, but there is no getting around the facts that Epstein was always a financier supportive of Democrats and the Democratic Party, and those inconvenient facts will continue to be offered up as a reminder to the American people.
