64 Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania have signed a letter asking Congress to block the state’s electors from going to Joe Biden after numerous irregularities were discovered in the state’s election.
Lawsuits are currently being litigated that allege that Pennsylvania’s expansion of vote-by-mail violated the state’s constitution.
If that stance holds up, it could overturn thousands of mail-in votes of which a majority favored Democrat Joe Biden over President Trump. Until the legal battle is sorted out, Republicans want Pennsylvania’s electoral votes held in limbo.
The letter addressed the actions of Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf (D) saying, “The Pennsylvania Election Code requires that all mail-in ballots be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day; Governor Wolf ordered that this statutory deadline be waived in some counties during the Primary Election, then sought its waiver statewide for the General Election.”
The electoral college will be meeting on December 14th, where they will decide the outcome of the election. However, it is up to Congress to certify the decision by the electoral college.
Democrats are attempting to ram through this election process with no review and no auditing of the irregularities that occurred. A sizeable chunk of the American population believes this election wasn’t fairly conducted, and rushing this process will do lasting damage to our elections.
