The surgeon who performed Joe Biden’s brain surgery is speaking out – and it turns out that the surgery was more of an emergency than was let on at the time. In fact, Biden almost died.
The surgery occurred when Biden was a senator, and was caused by an aneurysm which burst, causing a massive stroke.
In a disturbing piece on Biden’s health published yesterday, the Washington Examiner quotes Biden’s wife Jill as saying:
“Our doctor told us there was a 50-50 chance Joe wouldn’t survive surgery,” she wrote. “He also said that it was even more likely that Joe would have permanent brain damage if he survived. And if any part of his brain would be adversely affected, it would be the area that governed speech.”
Biden is certainly a lucky man to be alive – and with a myriad of other problems, including an irregular heartbeat, he’s not in the clear yet, although his brain surgeon insists he’s as good as new.
In his late 70’s, Biden would be the oldest president in U.S. history if elected. This hasn’t escaped Trump’s notice:
“I think that I feel like a young man. I’m so young. I can’t believe it. I’m the youngest person — I’m a young, vibrant man,” Trump joked to reporters on the White House’s South Lawn before departing on Air Force for an NRA convention in Indiana.
“I look at Joe, I don’t know about him. I don’t know. I would never say anyone is too old. I know they are all making me look very young both in terms of age and I think in terms of energy,” Trump added.
Biden will certainly have some work to do to assure the American people of his fitness for office.
